To what end?

[Haytham is not concerned about Connor. It's questionable if he even knows how to be concerned about Connor. But it's more than likely going to be a fruitless search. He'd be better off accepting the truth of the matter and moving on.]

[Connor scowls, as if insulted by that question. Haytham should have learned by now that Connor is nothing if not persistent.]

I trust my own eyes more than I trust a rune. What if something has happened to her, and that is why she cannot respond?

[Honestly, it's like talking to a child sometimes if only because Haytham has so very little patience to offer anyone these days and least of all to Connor.]

And what harm could have possibly befallen your mother, hm? I can't imagine she'd have left the forest without informing you and there haven't been any reports of anything out of the ordinary happening there either.

Sound advice, from a man who did not know she was dead for almost two decades. Did your reports ever tell you about that?
